A Little Neon In Your Life

Hello!! I hope you are all enjoying your week! This is kinda of a random little week in between holidays. I am excited to have another holiday but also ready for some structure that January will bring. I can't believe it will be 2013! Are you doing anything fun for New Years? We will be at a big party, can't wait!

With New Years here, I thought it would be a good day to share some COLOR and NEON with you!! Have you seen this Neon Chic Stack?? It's out at Michaels and so much fun!

I love this desktop set that DT Member Karen Hanson made. "Slowly back away from the tools...and nobody gets hurt." LOL, totally makes me laugh! You crafters are awesome!

DT Member Karla Der made this great layout with the stack. The compliment her Fremont Street Experience in Vegas perfectly! If anyone has been to Fremont Street, you know how bright and colorful it is!!!

And team member Jan Garber made this darling set for her grandson! She used the Neon Chic Stack and also the Chalkboard Stack! They pair up perfectly.

First Look: Collage Art Stack

Hello my wonderful, craft friends!! I hope everyone had an amazing holiday! We had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas with both my family and my husbands family. It was wonderful! We still have family and friend events going on until after New Years so I am clamping down on work so I can enjoy another fun weekend!

Did you love the 12 Days of DCWV here on the blog?? I know I did! I think our Design Team did a wonderful job inspiring us on holiday projects! Thank you to all 12 of our team members who took the time to do this! I think we started a new tradition ;)

Today is SO exciting!!! I get to show you the very first look at a new stack!!

Meet the Collage Art Stack!

It is an incredible mixed media stack that was hand painted and embellished! It is so unique for us!!! Collage Art is going to be available on January 1st at Michaels Stores. HERE is a video that shows you how this stack was made. It's so fun to see the process of painting one page that is in this stack. Here is a peek at a few pages from this gorgeous stack of papers!

Using a plain wooden nutcraker Rita used various trims, paint and the Christmas and Winter Stack to transform into the magical nutcracker you see here! It's the 4th day of Christmas and our nutcracker would be complete without the "four collie birds" at his feet! *Tip - when making your holiday crafts, especially those with curves it is easier to use a thinner sheet of paper like in the Christmas and Winter stack!

I loved using the Heirloom Christmas Stack along with the Hampton Art Stamps! They definitely coordinated well with their rustic yet playful feel. I created this little seasonal home decor piece to put on my end table. 

The spools came unfinished and I painted them with acrylic hobby paint. When they were dry I wrapped them with paper strips and added some stamps to the tops. I brushed them all with a little brown ink and sponge as a finishing touch. 

I hot glued the pins inside of each spool which was a very easy process. I spelled out the word "Joyful" on paper pieces and embellished each one. I love how you could take this concept and make one for any season, color scheme and word! Very versatile project that I have already received many compliments on!

{Supplies: Paper/DCWV, Stamps/Hampton Arts, Ink: Stampin' Up, Wood Spools: Maya Road, Memo Pins: Tim Holtz, Alphabet Stickers: Misc. + random fibers, buttons and brads.
